Our story begins with Dimitris Petikidis, a highly enthusiast experienced captain-dinghy sailor with wide versatile sailing career ranges from thousands sailing miles in the Greek seas, Atlantic Ocean and Persian Gulf and a winner of European Sailing Championship. Dimitris who born and raised in Kalamata, loved the sea from a very young age, studied Civil-Structural Engineering but he left his career to follow his and his father's dream. In the early days back in 1988, Dimitris's father, Dr Petikidis Panagiotis, one of the founders of the Kalamata's Marina was the proud owner of the first yacht chartering company of Messinia waters. His first "Mirella P" sailing yacht, a Beneteau clipper and a few years later a First 41S5 were not only just vessels that embodied dreams but also symbols of exploration, and the beginning of a seafaring legacy that would be passed down through generations. Dimitris grew up surrounded by the whispers of the sea, the creaking of wooden decks, and the tales spun by his father's guidance.

In 2019, Dimitris established Messinia Yachts, continuing the legacy of the family business in homage to his father and perpetuating the cherished values instilled therein.
